The Andreas VFW Post will meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at the West Penn Annex.

Rush Ryan Delano Seniors

The Rush Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens met on Nov. 26.

President Robert Neifert opened the meeting with the invocation, “Thanksgiving.” One member was added to the sick list.

There were two guests. The group chanced off kitchen, Christmas and Wos-Wit baskets which were won by three members. Another member is doing bus trips to Mohegan Sun Casino. Refreshments were served.

The Christmas Party is at noon Dec. 10 at Capriotti’s in McAdoo. The meeting closed and all were wished a happy Thanksgiving. Bingo was played.

The next meeting will be Jan. 14 at Christ Church in Barnesville.

Calvary Lewistown

The 10:30 a.m. second Sunday of Advent worship service at Calvary Evangelical Church in Lewistown Valley will have the lighting of the Advent wreath with the candle of peace along with Pastor Kim’s message of “Gifts.” Special music will be provided. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:15 a.m. and there will be no evening service.

The annual Calvary Christmas dinner and party will follow the service. Call Sue at 570-668-3359 to register and find out what dish to bring and share.

The Wednesday night prayer group meets at 7 p.m. and is for all ages.

The 10:30 a.m. Dec. 15 service will include the annual Christmas program celebrating the birth of Christ. At 3 p.m. Dec. 15 there will be a community choir concert with Christmas music. There will be no Dec. 15 evening service.

St. Peter’s - West Penn

The 9 a.m. Sunday service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn will have a Joyous Noise offering. There will be cookies and cocoa in the fellowship hall at 10:15 a.m. The WASP Christmas party is at noon; the Ben Salem Handbell Choir Concert is at 2 p.m., and Girl Scouts meet at 6 p.m., all on Sunday.

The Prayer Group meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday, and the Retirees meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

On Dec. 12, the Cherub Choir and Bell Choir meet at 6 p.m. and the Senior Choir meets at 7 p.m.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Chorus musical

The Lewistown Valley Community Chorus will present a Christmas musical “God with Us, Emmanuel,” Sunday, Dec. 15 at 3 p.m.
