State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following crashes:

• Daniel B. Portz, 55, of Wind Gap, was cited after he left the scene of a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 3:59 p.m. Nov. 28 on Route 115 in Ross Township.

Police said he was driving a 2012 Toyota Yaris southbound when it left the road and struck a utility pole.

Portz was injured in the crash, police said.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 11:01 a.m. Nov. 24 at the intersection of Municipal and Church Hill roads in East Penn Township.

Police said the crash occurred when Natanael Pena Tejada, 32, of Reading, driving a 2021 Ford, entered the intersection without safe clearance and the vehicle was struck by a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck operated by Ralph E. Fahringer, 46, of Lehighton, who was westbound on Church Hill Road. The pickup then crashed into an embankment, causing disabling damage.

Pena Tejada was cited after the crash.

Police said both operators refused medical treatment at the scene.
