Event to showcase careers in health care

People interested in careers in health care will have an opportunity to learn about hot jobs in the area, training programs and funding possibilities at the Healthcare Career Pathways Showcase at the Pennsylvania CareerLink Lehigh Valley office at 555 Union Blvd. in Allentown.

The showcase is from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 9

In partnership with CareerLink Lehigh Valley, Lehigh Carbon Community College and Northampton Community College will showcase training opportunities leading to a career in health care, including noncredit, short-term certificate programs, as well as degree programs.

Featured will be programs in nurse aide, licensed practical nurse, registered nurse, medical billing and coding, health care office coordinator, phlebotomy, medical assistant and emergency medical technician.

Attendees will have the opportunity to talk with representatives from LCCC and NCC about financial aid, admissions and career services, and visit with faculty in the various programs about requirements and job opportunities.

Training funds may also be available for qualified participants through CareerLink Lehigh Valley.

Employers will also be on-site to highlight their open positions and talk with attendees. Job seekers, participants in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, college students, community partners and Lehigh Valley residents who are interested in learning about health care career pathways and training opportunities are urged to attend.
