The American Fire Company No. 1, Lansford, presented its first-ever Firefighter of the Year award to Frank Nardini Jr. during its annual Christmas party.

Nardini, 39, has been the chief engineer for the company for the past 19 years and also has served as lieutenant for the past six years.

In accepting the award, Nardini said, “I donate a lot of time to the fire company because I love everybody I am involved with. This isn’t about one guy. This is about all of us. We are a big family. Always were and we always will be. Without everybody, it’s nothing.”

David Midas, president of the company, presented the award to Nardini.
