St. Peter’s - West Penn

The 9 a.m. Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn will have the sacrament of Holy Communion. Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m., and Girl Scouts meet at 6 p.m. Poinsettia orders are due.

On Tuesday, the Cherub Choir and Bell Choir meet at 6 p.m., and the Senior Choir meets at 7 p.m.

On Dec. 7, there will be a Sunday School cookie bake and sleepover beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Calvary Evangelical

The 10:30 a.m. first Sunday of Advent worship service at Calvary Evangelical in Lewistown Valley will have the lighting of the Advent wreath, celebration of communion and a message by Pastor Kim. Special music will be provided by April Gerber. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:15 a.m. The 6:30 p.m. service will have music praise and Bible study.

The Wednesday night prayer group for all ages is at 7 p.m.

The annual Calvary Christmas dinner and party will be held Dec. 8 after the worship service. Call 570-668-3359 and ask for Sue to register and find out what dish to bring and share. There will be no Dec. 8 evening service.

The 10:30 a.m. Dec. 15 service will be the annual Christmas program celebrating the birth of Christ. At 3 p.m. Dec. 15, there will be the annual community choir concert with Christmas music.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. Communion will be included in the service. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Poinsettia orders are due on Sunday.

“The Chosen” will be shown at 2 p.m. Sunday in the adult Sunday school room.

Luncheon

“The Greatest Blessing” luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 10 at First United Church of Christ, in Schuylkill Haven.

Daniel Byrne of Beaufort, North Carolina, will talk about “The Great Commission in a Fallen World.” Attendees will sing Christmas carols and play a game, and Carol Jobrey will present a short decoration feature.
