The Tamaqua girls and Lehighton boys basketball teams both opened the season with impressive victories on Friday.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Tamaqua-ES South
Tamaqua rolled to a 46-5 non-league win over East Stroudsburg South in its season opener.
Millie Black led the Raiders (1-0) with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Lauren Ligenza added 12. Leah Black scored seven points in the win.
East Stroudsburg South won the JV game, 36-30. Elaina Coleman had 13 points for Tamaqua.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Lehighton-Shenandoah
Lehighton cruised past Shenandoah for a 72-27 win in the Hamburg Area Tip-Off Tournament.
The Indians (1-0) got 23 points from Cole Dietz, whole Joe Roth added 19 points. John Light scored seven of his nine points in the first quarter for the winners.
Brayden Maksimik and Izayah Lopez each had eight points for the Blue Devils.
