State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following crashes:

• Betty L. Moyer, 80, of Stroudsburg, had suspected minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 4:59 p.m. Nov. 20 on Route 209 (Interchange Road) in Polk Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley MedEvac team to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg.

They said she was driving a 2018 Ford F-150 east when it left the roadway, hit a sign and flower bed before continuing into a front yard at 808 Interchange Road, where it struck a tree.

The truck was towed from the scene.

Moyer was cited after the crash, police said.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 18 on West Lizard Creek Road, East Penn Township.

Police said the crash occurred when Carol J. McFarland, 72, of Lehighton, driving a 2004 Dodge, entered the intersection with Blue Mountain Road and struck a 2022 Kia Sorento driven northbound by Bernadette Poznar, 44, of New Ringgold.

Both vehicles were able to be driven after the crash, according to police.

McFarland was cited after the crash, police said.

• No one was injured when a 2020 Ford Ranger hit a deer at noon Nov. 17 on Route 248 in Bowmanstown.

Police said John L. Peplowski Jr., 31, of Swedesboro, New Jersey, was driving the vehicle north when the crash occurred. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

• Rikki L. Boyer, 29, of Kunkletown, had sustained suspected minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 12:39 p.m. Nov. 16 on Hahn’s Dairy Road, Lower Towamensing Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the Palmerton Community Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.

Police said she was driving a 2019 Subaru Impreza when she served to avoid hitting a deer. The car struck a ditch on the right side of the road, resulting in disabling damage.

The car was towed from the scene.
