Chestnuthill residents ask about properties
During public comment at a recent Chestnuthill Township supervisor’s meeting, resident Carmen Belizdi asked for an update about the property at 1720 Johns Road. She said there has been an ongoing issue with the condition of the property.
Belizdi said, “There is garbage, scrap, four campers and three disabled vehicles on the property and this has been going on since 2021. It’s in the heart of Sun Valley. It’s a mess. I’m asking for your help.”
Carl Gould, the chairman of the supervisors, said, “Zoning does this, not the board, but we will bring it to Matt Neeb, zoning chair.”
Then resident Amy Bingley, of Sun Valley, asked the supervisors about the purchase of a parcel by Ann McKenna for $200. Bingley said McKenna owes back dues of $950, which should have prohibited her from buying additional properties.
Gould said, “We will find out how it fell through the cracks and get back to you.”
Emergency center
A date has not been set yet for the opening of the emergency services center.
Township Manager Dave Albright said, ”Hopefully by the end of the year”
A 22-year lease was approved for the new emergency service facility building, which is near completion. Sixty-seven percent of the building will belong to the fire company. The cost of the lease is $277,000 per year and an additional $80,807.02. for common area maintenance.
A change order for a decrease of $15,744.50 by KC Mechanical was approved as they will not need to do a wet well for the emergency services center.
