State police at Stroudsburg

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported the following incidents:

• Police arrested Hollis Samuel Edwards, no age or address given, on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment after an incident on Nov. 12 at a residence on Sky Hawk Trail, Middle Smithfield Township.

Police said they were called there for a physical altercation and upon arrival learned that Edwards had fled the scene.

An arrest warrant was issued against Edwards, who was believed to be inside a residence on Sky Hawk Trail the following day, when a state police Special Emergency Response Team was summoned to take him into custody.

He was transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville.

• A 17-year-old girl from East Stroudsburg is the victim of a harassment by physical contact incident police were called to at 10:48 a.m. Oct. 31.

They were called to East Stroudsburg South High School to investigate the incident.

• A 54-year-old man from Valley Cottage, New York, was cited for stalking/harassment by following a person after police were called at 6:20 p.m. Oct. 15 to a property on Highview Drive, Chestnuthill Township.

A 36-year-old woman from Brodheadsville told police the man, who she said is her ex-boyfriend, sent her several text messages indicating that he was following her. She told police he was tracking her whereabouts without her consent.

• A 47-year-old man from Lower Cherry Valley Road, Hamilton Township, Saylorsburg, went to the police barracks at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 14 to report a theft he said occurred seven months before being reported.

He told police T-Mobile was charging him for four telephone lines that he did not consent to.

• A 52-year-old man from Saylorsburg was targeted in theft by deception incident.

He reported at 4:45 p.m. Oct. 12 that he was expected to receive a check for $695.14 from the Department of Treasury at his property on Cass Lane, Hamilton Township. He told police he never received the check and discovered it had been signed by a third party and deposited.

• Police were summoned to investigate a criminal mischief incident at 9:05 a.m. Sept. 13 on Bossardsville Road, Hamilton Township.

A 50-year-old woman from Stroudsburg and a 62-year-old man from Henryville reported an unknown actor damaged six tires on their vehicles, police said.
