Pl. Vy. renovation gets conditional nod

A crowd was present at the Chestnuthill Township supervisors meeting on Tuesday for the land development plan for Pleasant Valley High School additions and renovations.

Estimated to cost about $100 million, the project will be done in phases beginning in the spring of 2025 with the completion in 2027.

Engineers for the school district asked for approval to add a new parking lot for bus drivers with a pedestrian pathway and event parking, including an entire area adjacent to the school with two access points for handicap parking.

Attorney Andrew Wolf said, “It seems like you have consolidated the main concern of parking.”

Kimberly LaBrake, a senior project manager for D’Huy Engineering Inc., spoke about the time frame of the project and clarified what area would be demolished.

“Bids are due by Dec. 5,” LaBrake said. “Renovations will be done of the entire school, including plumbing sprinkler and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. The only thing being knocked down would be the original auditorium. Four classrooms will be added and the cafeteria will be expanded.”

The renovation project also includes the option to add two team rooms next to the gymnasium.

Conditional approval was granted.
