November 22, 1979 — Roy Fredericks runs for a touchdown and throws for another to lead the Tamaqua Alumni to a 23-0 victory over the Coaldale Alumni in the 4th annual Turkey Day grid Classic at Panther Valley’s stadium. Fredericks opens the scoring in the first quarter with a 4-yard TD run that is set up by a 55-yard punt return by Rick Jones. Later in the frame, Krapf boots a 34-yard field goal to extend the lead. The advantage swells in the second period when Tom Yelito connects with Rick Fenstermacher on a 68-yard scoring pass. The winners close things out in the third on a 35-yard TD toss from Fredericks to Jones.
