Marissa Blasko, a senior in graphic design at the Carbon Career and Technical institute, from the Panther Valley School District, was the winner of the Asa Packer Mansion Logo Design Contest sponsored by the Borough of Jim Thorpe.
Blasko attended the Joint Operating Committee along with her instructor, Maritza Reinbold.
The contest challenged local high school students to create a new logo for the Asa Packer Mansion that will be used for official use for letterhead, printed materials, website, social media, and clothing, among other items.
As the winner, Blasko was awarded a $100 cash prize and her choice of a T-shirt or hoodie with the winning logo on the front.
Blasko and Reinbold have been invited to the Jim Thorpe borough meeting for recognition in December.
“We are excited to have this new logo,” exclaimed Jalin Burns, an employee at the Asa Packer Mansion. “The red roof and the cupola are iconic of the mansion.”
