TURNPIKE CRASHES
State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:
• Bonita Lazorick, 77, of Jim Thorpe, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 10:36 a.m. Nov. 19 at mile marker 70.3 in Washington Township.
Police said she was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township.
They said the crash occurred when she was driving a 2015 Subaru Forester southbound and failed to yield to a moving traffic pattern for roadway maintenance. The Forester hit the back end of an attenuator that was mounted on a maintenance vehicle, a 2005 International Harvester operated by Holly J. Ford, 51, of Paradise.
Police said the Forester had moderate front end damage.
Lazorick was cited after the crash, police said.
• Police said a 2010 Toyota Corolla was hit by a vehicle that left the scene.
The incident occurred at 9:02 p.m. Nov. 15 at mile marker 86.9 in Penn Forest Township.
Police said Rebecca A. Keifer, 21, of Frederick, Maryland, was driving the Corolla southbound when a white truck hit its driver side and continued south without stopping.
• Dakota E. Snyder, 22, of Lehighton, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 3:44 a.m. Nov. 15 at mile marker 73.1 in East Penn Township. He was uninjured in the crash.
Police said he was northbound in a 2017 Subaru when it traveled off the right side of the road and hit a guide rail with its passenger side.
• Police said a vehicle hit a 2024 International Harvester tractor-trailer at mile marker 76.6 in Franklin Township at 11:36 a.m. Nov. 6 and then left the scene.
The rig, operated by Natacha R. Telisma, 48, of Irvington, New Jersey, was northbound when a vehicle in the left lane traveled into the right lane and struck it, according to police.
