State police at Frackville - crashes
State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following crashes:
• A 17-year-old boy from Barnesville was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 5:49 a.m. Oct. 26 on the Tuscarora Mountain Road, Ryan Township. He was uninjured in the incident.
Police said he was driving a 2005 Jeep Laredo southbound when it traveled onto the west shoulder of the road and struck a utility pole, continuing southbound and then hit a tree, after which the engine compartment caught fire.
The Jeep was towed from the scene.
• James D. Frazier Jr., 28, of Effort, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 11:07 p.m. Nov. 6 on Barnesville Drive (Route 54) in Ryan Township. Police said he and three passengers, toddlers under the age of 3, were uninjured.
He was driving a 2007 Ford Edge eastbound when it traveled onto the east shoulder and hit a metal guide rail and a utility pole before overturning, sliding about 60 feet on its roof before coming to rest, police said.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
• John P. Cramer, 52, of Tamaqua, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 8:49 p.m. Oct. 26 on West Water Street (Route 209) in Coaldale.
Police said he was driving a 2004 Buick Rendezvous west when it crossed over the center line and hit a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Alexzandria L. Uhlman, 32, of Lansford.
Police said Cramer fled the scene.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Neither driver, nor Matthew L. Dortch, 25, of Lansford, a passenger with Uhlman, were injured.
• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 1:01 p.m. Nov. 14 on Claremont Avenue (Route 309) in Hometown, Rush Township.
Police said Brian J. Billig, 83, of Hazleton, was driving a 2009 Subaru Impreza southbound when it attempted to turn left onto Wyoming Avenue and struck a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Wayne S. Postupack, 66, of Tamaqua.
Police said the Impreza was towed from the scene while the Silverado was able to be driven from it.
Billig was cited for vehicle entering or crossing a roadway, police said.
