Schuylkill County Commissioners approved the following:

• The commissioners approved a $24,222 contract with AMC Enterprises, and a cooperation agreement, with the borough, for a demolition project at 138-140 Sixth Street in Coaldale.

• They also took similar action with the borough of Shenandoah and enter into a $169,000 contract with Brdaric Excavating for the demolition of a former garment factory at the corner of White and Poplar streets that has been abandoned since the 1990s.

• A $2,375 change order was approved on the completed Clay and Cedar Street paving project in Tamaqua. The contract with Gaver Industries, doing business as Barker and Barker Paving, increases the contract from $90,108 to $912,483,

• The commissioners also made a number of appointments:

Jerry Bowman to a four-year term on the Schuylkill Conservation District from Jan. 1, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2028.

Scott Graver as public director, Russell Wagner as a farmer director, as members of the board of directors of the Schuylkill County Conservation District effective Jan. 1, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2028, and Commissioner Gary Hess as the county commissioner director on the board effective for the year 2025.

Larry Wittig, Andreas, to the Schuylkill County Airport Authority to the unexpired term of Anthony Baran through the end of the year, and to a new, five-year term effective from Jan. 1, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2029.

Former commissioners Jerry Knowles, Tamaqua, to the Schuylkill County Housing Authority board effective Jan. 1, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2029.
