The sale of the former Brights Department Store building in Lansford to the Kovatch Corporation of Nesquehoning was confirmed tis morning by Joseph Kovatch, vice president of the firm.

The building, now occupied by Brights Furniture Store, is located in the center of the town’s Ridge Street business district.

Kovatch revealed the plan calls for the property to be subdivided to accommodate a number of smaller stores or a “mini mall.”

Included in the sale is the parking lot located opposite the West Patterson Street entrance to the store and a garage-type building immediately west of the store.
