The Penn State Altoona women’s swimming team traveled to Alfred State College for their first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference meet of the season this past Saturday, when the Lions faced the host Pioneers and Pitt-Bradford in a tri-meet at Alfred State’s McLane Natatorium.

Penn State Altoona came away with a pair of wins, defeating host Alfred State by a score of 142-132 and topping Pitt-Bradford 195-24. The Lions totaled seven first-place finishes in the meet, with all of them coming in individual events.

Tamaqua graduate Alexis Buchala posted Penn State Altoona’s first win of the meet, prevailing in the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 12:20.57.

Next up, the Penn State Altoona women’s swimming team will take part in its first multi-day tournament on Thursday, Nov. 21, through Saturday, Nov. 23, when the Lions will compete in the Malone University Invitational.
