Two brothers face multiple criminal charges after allegedly going to a Lansford home, confronting a resident over money and causing damage Sunday night.
Devon Herman, 27, of East Ridge Street, Lansford, and Jonathan Herman, 25, of Sam Brooke Circle, Lehighton, were arraigned on charges of criminal trespass, criminal mischief, terroristic threats and disorderly conduct and released on unsecured bail of $20,000 and $10,000, respectively.
Devon Herman also faces charges of resisting arrest and public drunkenness.
According to court papers, the brothers went to a home in the 400 block of East Patterson Street to confront a man about $200 he allegedly owed Jonathan Herman.
Jonathan Herman repeatedly kicked the front door, and yelled statements, such as “I’m going to kill you,” court papers said. The residents locked their door to avoid a physical confrontation, and noticed damage to a 2006 Ram truck.
Other witnesses also heard the yelling, threats and a smashing sound. The witnesses then saw damage to the Ram truck, which had a broken windshield and passenger side mirror.
State police went to Devon Herman’s home, and he answered the door, immediately becoming confrontational, court papers said.
He began to comply when troopers attempted to cuff him, and then resisted and police deployed a Taser, court papers said. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Devon Herman told police that he was at a bar with his brother, and went to the East Patterson Street home and started a confrontation. He admitted to kicking the windshield, causing damage, and his brother damaged the side mirror, court papers said.
