State police at Frackville
State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following incidents:
• Police were called to an incident on East Miner Street, Coaldale, at 9:07 p.m. Oct. 29.
They said a 36-year-old woman from Coaldale alleged a suspect violated a Protection From Abuse court order that protects her. The case is under investigation.
• Police were called to a possible Protection From Abuse violation at 8:23 a.m. Nov. 2 at a property on Golf Road, West Penn Township.
The complaint involved text messages in reference to child care and visitations, which were allowed under the PFA order, police said.
• A 17-year-old boy from Tamaqua is facing retail theft charges after police were called to the Walmart store, 35 Plaza Drive, Hometown, at 7:01 p.m. Nov. 9.
It is alleged he stole merchandise valued at $58.30.
• Police are investigating the theft of 110 Pennsylvania annual inspection stickers from J.W. Zaprazny, Summer Valley Road, East Brunswick Township, New Ringgold.
The theft was reported at 8:32 a.m. Nov. 11.
• An 80-year-old Pottsville man had $17,000 stolen in a theft by deception incident reported to police at 11:17 a.m. Nov. 10.
The man told police his personal computer was hacked after an unknown person coerced him to withdraw the money from his bank and purchase gift cards under false pretenses.
* Police are investigating a burglary that happened between 6 p.m. Nov. 6 and 3 p.m. Nov. 7 at a garage on High Road, Mahanoy Township.
The victim is a 32-year-old man from Lebanon.
He reported unknown actors gained entry to the garage by unscrewing the siding and cutting a hole in the insulation of the building. Once inside, the actor(s) rummaged through numerous items and stole tools and a welder valued at $2,500 before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction of travel.
