A 71-year-old Effort man is facing DUI and other charges after he tried to elude police on a lawn tractor, state police at the Fern Ridge barracks said.
Police said the man was observed operating the tractor on Route 115 at 1:30 a.m. Oct. 30 and committing multiple traffic violations.
When police attempted to make a traffic stop, the man led them on a short pursuit until he was taken into custody at the intersection of the Gilbert Road and Effort Village Drive in Chestnuthill Township, according to police.
He is charged with fleeing or eluding police, resisting arrest and driving under the influence of alcohol.
