20 years of dancing
TNT Studio of Dance, Lehighton, is celebrating 20 years in the community.
To kick off the dance year, the studio hosted a “Fun Day” on Sept 29.
More than 80 students and their family members had the afternoon chocked full of fun for the event.
In addition to jump rope, bean bag and hula hoop contests, there was a tattoo station where dancers could choose their designs. They also got to decorate a cupcake with icing and sprinkles, and they each received a crown to adorn with jewels.
Each student signed a “birthday banner” for TNT and received balloon art of their choosing. Robbie’s Balloons, Lehighton, played a pivotal role in Fun Day by supplying a balloon arch at which each student had a picture taken.
Another big moment of the day was a visit from state Rep. Doyle Heffley, who stopped by to wish the kids a great day and join in the balloon fun,
Heffley and TNT Director Deb Strausberger are longtime friends and former Lehighton Area School District classmates.
TNT has many other fun events planned for its students for the remainder of their dance year, including movie night at the Roxie; snowtubing at Blue Mountain Resort; and bowling at Fritz Lanes.
Over the past 20 years, TNT has donated show proceeds from the “June Revue” and its Christmas shows to the American Cancer Society and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The grand total donated now exceeds $80,000.
