Tamaqua Fire Police members were on hand to watch the winner of its first Supermarket Shopping Spree sprint through Boyer’s Food Store in Tamaqua to grab anything he wanted.
Daniel Padron purchased the winning ticket in the fire police fundraiser and had 5 minutes to place what he wanted in his shopping cart.
Padron, of the McAdoo area, stopped shopping with 30 seconds to go.
When it was all said and done, Padron walked away with more than $700 in groceries.
He scored meats, cheeses, turkeys, laundry detergent and a host of other items.
The fire police sold 500 chances for the shopping spree and plan to hold another one in November 2025.
