State police at the Hazleton barracks reported that a 42-year-old man from Beaver Meadows is facing drug possession charges.

Police were called to assist Penn State University police in an incident at 5:42 p.m. Nov. 1 at Airport Road and Route 93 in Sugarloaf Township.

The suspect was operating a vehicle when he fell asleep while stopped at the intersection, after which police said it was determined he was operating the vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance.

Police said the man had fentanyl in his possession.
