Summit Hill police benefit from ND trip

For a number of years an annual bus trip has been organized to a Notre Dame football game by an informal group which originated at the Batter’s Box bar and grill in Summit Hill.

This year the group hosted a trip to the Notre Dame versus Navy game.

The result was a donation of $2,270 to the Diligence Fire Company in Summit Hill.

The contribution was made during a meeting of Summit Hill Borough Council by Mayor Jeffrey Szczecina.

He said the money was raised specifically from a T-shirt sale as well as a raffle for a bus trip and two game tickets to a future game.

Szczecina said the group who raised the money consists of himself, Dan Matika, who owns the Batter’s Box, and the following:

Joe “Fuzzy” O’Donnell, Brian Dolena, Tatum O’Brien, Summit Hill fire Chief Shawn Hoben, Larry Black of the fire company, Becky Collura of the fire company, John Dowling, David McAndrew and Rich Gould Jr.
