SH boy, 14, charged with rape

Summit Hill police have arrested a 14-year-old boy on sexual assault charges involving another 14-year-old boy who told police he was assaulted on Oct. 8 in the wooded area behind the Ginter Field.

Police Chief Todd Woodward said the boy was arrested on one count of rape, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault and two counts of indecent sexual assault. The charges have been forwarded to the Carbon County Juvenile Probation Office for processing.

Woodward said representatives of the Children’s Advocacy Center, Scranton, and the Carbon County District Attorney’s Office assisted borough police.
