Fire damages ranch home in Rush

A fire broke out just after 11 a.m. Thursday at a 35 Oxford St. home in the village of Hometown, Rush Township.

No injuries were reported.

Neighbors spotted flames pouring out of the front of the windows of the single story, ranch-style home.

It took fire personnel just under an hour to extinguish flames.

Schuylkill County property records show the home is owned by Eleanor Hodge.

The Hometown Volunteer Fire Company, along with fire personnel from Ryan Township, Tamaqua, Walker Township and Mahanoy City responded. Tamaqua and Lehighton Ambulance were also at the scene.
