Veterans Day Services

• The annual Carbon County Veterans Day observance will take place at 9:15 a.m. on Nov. 8 in Josiah White Park, Jim Thorpe. This year’s keynote speaker is TJ Garritano.

All are welcome.

• The Tamaqua American Legion Post 173 Annual Veterans Day Parade will be held beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday in Tamaqua.

Staging will begin at 9:30 a.m. by the former Maff Motors, 900 East Broad St.

Before the parade begins, members of the Tamaqua Legion Honor Guard will fire an Honors’ Volley over the Rahn Township/Tamaqua War Memorial on East Broad Street.

The parade will continue west on Broad Street and end at the intersection of West Broad and Lehigh streets.

The Legion Color Guard and Honor Guard will lead the parade.

• Carbon County Veterans Day Parade, 1:30 p.m. in Lansford. Hosted by American Legion Post 123, Lansford. The parade will form on the far western part of the borough (swimming pool area), travel east on Bertsch Street, turn left onto Chestnut Street, then make a left on Patterson Street and then a right on Springgarden Street before turning left and proceeding westbound on Ridge Street.

• Gilbert American Legion Post 927, service at 11 a.m. Monday, with guest speakers and a light luncheon. 646 Fairgrounds Road, Gilbert. 570-977-8208.
