Calvary Lewistown
Pastor Kim Leskovich will bring the message of hope at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Calvary Evangelical Church in Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m. Special music will be provided as the congregation worships together.
The 7 p.m. Sunday service of singing and sharing will feature Terry D. Gerber bringing the evening devotion.
The prayer meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday. All are welcome to all services.
Any shoe boxes prepared for the Christmas Shoe Box program must be dropped off to the church by Nov. 17. There will be a prayer blessing.
The 10:30 a.m. Nov. 24 service will be the annual harvest home service, with nonperishable or fresh fruits or vegetables presented to Pastor Kim and her husband, Scott.
Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Oct. 31 with 24 members present. President Jean Machamer opened the meeting.
The secretary sang a Halloween song. Two members were added to the sick list.
Machamer gave Halloween mini pretzels to each member, and another member distributed Halloween treats to the group.
After Thanksgiving, there will be a brown bag lunch. A Christmas auction will be held Dec. 5. Bingo and cards were played.
The group meets at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is welcome.
Zion Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.
St. Peter’s - West Penn
Morning worship at St. Peter’s in West Penn is at 9 a.m. Sunday. There will be a Joyous Noise offering. Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m., and Girl Scouts meet at 6 p.m.
The deadline for the December/January newsletter is Tuesday.
The Cherub Choir meets at 6 p.m. Thursday followed by the Senior Choir at 7 p.m.
