To commemorate its 75th anniversary, the Greater Weatherly Area Community Chest held a poster contest for students in grades 2, 3 and 4 in the Weatherly Area Elementary School. The children were to depict in their drawings what the GWACC does to aid residents in their time of need. Five students’ posters were picked and given monetary awards. Mary Rose Minnick, parade chairperson, presented the awards. Students are, from left, first place, Reya Gregory; second place, Grace Gregory; third place, Carrie Blackwell; fourth place, Cheyenne Harker; and fifth place, Jenna Covey. Honorable mentions were Lydia Zink, Theo Zink, Andi Krieger and Charlotte Stallone. The five winning posters were then displayed in the windows of the Weatherly Post Office. CONTRIBUTED PHOTO
