Trinity Happenings

Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. 3rd St., Lehighton begins at 9:30 a.m. Synodically Approved Lay Minister Kathy Long presides. Coffeehouse fellowship begins at 10:30 a.m. in Luther Hall.

Weekly Sunday Church School for students ages 3 through grade 6, and confirmation preparatory classes for students in 7-8 grades begin at 10:45 a.m.

The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food.

A free movie night on Nov. 16 in Luther Hall. Dr. Seuss’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” starring Jim Carrey, will be shown at 7 p.m. Popcorn, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase to benefit projects of Trinity’s Youth Group. Please use the Iron Street entrance.

An Advent wreath workshop will be held in Luther Hall Nov. 24, 10:45 a.m. For Trinity members, there is no cost to attend. Supplies are provided. $10 donation for nonmembers. RSVP no later than Nov. 10.

Trinity Thrift Store Christmas Sale in Luther Hall is Nov. 29-30 and Dec. 2-3 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Featured items include indoor and outdoor decorations, cards, knickknacks, toys, more. Cash only. Please use the Iron Street entrance.

There will be Nativity displays belonging to Trinity members to view in Luther Hall Dec. 7, from 3-6 p.m., and Dec. 8, 8:30 a.m.- noon. No cost to attend. All are welcome.

BECC

Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, 222 North St., Lehighton, will host Sunday Morning Worship at 10:45 a.m.

• Sunday: 9:30 a.m. Sunday school.

• Tuesday: 7 p.m. prayer meeting

• Thursday: Men’s Bible Study, 5 a.m.; 11 a.m. Women’s group will begin. All women in the community are welcome.

Second Blessing Clothing Ministry will be open from 6-8 p.m. Thursday. Use the side door entrance. Additional information is on Facebook.

SamaritanPurse.org shoe boxes are available to be filled and returned by Nov. 17.

On Nov. 17, Bishop Sizemore will be visiting. Lunch will follow the service.

St. John’s

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mahoning, 826 Mahoning Dr. W., Lehighton will hold worship service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday.

Sunday school 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Council meeting is held at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 12.

Fundraising meeting is held at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 13.

Dinkey Memorial Church has a food cupboard available to those in need of supplemental food resources. It is available to members of Dinkey Memorial and St. John’s, and to residents of East Penn Township. The distribution is the third Thursday of every month from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Dinkey’s Social Room, located below the sanctuary. If you or anyone you know would benefit from receiving food from the Community Cupboard, please speak with Pastor Tony.

A congregational meeting will be held on Nov. 17 following morning worship in Fellowship Hall. The purpose of this meeting is to pass the 2025 budget, elect council members and to vote on the proposed updated constitution. There are copies of the proposed constitution in the office or contact the office to have a PDF copy emailed to you.

The church is collecting items for its 2025 rummage sale. Donations can be dropped off in the back half of the Sunday school nursery room. For questions, call Cheryl Kistler at 510-533-5723.

Ben Salem UCC

Ben Salem UCC, 1965 Church Hill Road, Lehighton will hold Sunday Worship at 8 a.m. with a Praise Band and at 10:15 a.m. for a traditional service. Communion service will be the first Sunday of each month.

Sunday school is held at 9 a.m. and is open to anyone from nursery through youth.
