FRM Group Insurance and Financial Services is hosting the Christmas tree project Angels for Aging.
The project benefits elderly residents, Monroe County Area Agency on Aging, and The Gardens at Stroud.
People can support Angels for Aging by visiting the FRM Group office at 1286 N. Ninth St. in Stroudsburg. Anyone interested in fulfilling a wish is welcome to come in and pick a name from the tree.
“This is our 12th year supporting the elderly in our communities,” said project coordinators, Stacy J. Ferguson, account manager of personal lines, and Crystal LaRue. “By engaging in this project, we are enhancing the quality of life of some Monroe County senior citizens age 60 and older. We are doing this by picking a name or two off the tree and fulfilling their wishes. We then wrap the gifts, attach their name, and place them under the tree.”
The gifts will be picked up on Dec. 6.
“It’s always a pleasure making a difference in the lives of others,” Ferguson said.
The company’s mission is to be involved and give back to the communities. As the holidays approach, it’s a perfect time to do just that.
Mary Claire Megargle, administrator at the Monroe County Area Agency on Aging, said, “Many of the seniors that we serve have outlived their families, and are also low income. The thoughtful gifts given by FRM Group Insurance and Financial Services are sometimes the only holiday cheer that these individuals receive during the holidays. It makes such a huge difference.”
