The Tamaqua American Legion Post 173 Annual Veterans Day Parade will be held beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday in Tamaqua.
Staging will begin at 9:30 a.m. by the former Maff Motors, 900 East Broad St.
Before the parade begins, members of the Tamaqua Legion Honor Guard will fire an Honors’ Volley over the Rahn Township/Tamaqua War Memorial on East Broad Street.
The parade will continue west on Broad Street and end at the intersection of West Broad and Lehigh streets.
The Legion Color Guard and Honor Guard will lead the parade.
This year’s Grand Marshal is Thomas Jones, a 51-year member of the American Legion. He is a Marine Corps veteran, who served honorably in the Vietnam War.
The Poppy Queen is Isabella Swartz, 6, a junior member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Following the parade, there will be brief service outside of the Legion Post, 206 W. Broad St. Food and refreshments will be served inside the Post home.
Parade organizers are encouraging veterans, businesses, fire companies, churches, youth groups and clubs to participate in the parade.
Everyone is asked to come out and show their support by viewing the parade and honoring the veterans.
