The Franklin Township Fire Company responded to a brush fire just after noon Sunday behind 86 Main Road. The fire was reported to be behind the home climbing fast up an embankment towards Route 209. Franklin and Lehighton fire companies battled the flames from both sides before bringing it under control. Just minutes before Franklin Township Fire Department was dispatched to a homeowner burning near his home near Beltzville Lake.
