State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 55-year-old Coaldale man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 3:15 a.m. Oct. 29.
He was stopped in a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East, Lehighton.
• A 26-year-old man from Gloucester, New Jersey, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 10:30 p.m. Oct. 26.
He was stopped in a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.
• Police are investigating a theft they were called to at 6:14 p.m. Oct. 24 at a property on Horseshoe Drive, Towamensing Township.
Police said the victim is a 17-year-old boy from Palmerton.
• Police said a male was cited for harassment by physical contact after they were called to a physical altercation that took place at Palmerton Area High School, Fireline Road, Lower Towamensing Township, at 6:04 p.m. Oct. 24.
Police said the victim is a 14-year-old boy from Palmerton.
• A physical altercation that occurred at Palmerton Area High School resulted in a male being cited for harassment by physical contact, police said.
The victim is a 13-year-old boy from Palmerton. The incident, listed as occurring at 8:07 p.m. Oct. 22, took place in the lunchroom of the school, police said.
• A 62-year-old Jim Thorpe man was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police were called to a property on Interchange Road, Towamensing Township, at 11:37 a.m. Sept. 6.
Police said they were called to an incident within a household and upon speaking to the man observed multiple signs of impairment, after which time he was charged with DUI in a 2008 Toyota.
• Police are investigating a theft of services incident that was reported to them at a property on Interchange Road, Towamensing Township.
A man told police he paid a person to do construction services at his residence, but to date the work had not been done.
The payments were made in 2023, police said.
