Pleasant Valley goes remote due to threat

Tips about a threat to safety led the Pleasant Valley School District to order a remote instruction day on Friday.

Superintendent James Konrad said the school district “received Safe2Say tips referencing a social media post that references a safety threat and out of an abundance of caution, Pleasant Valley School District will be operating on a remote instruction day. We are working with State Police to ensure the safety of our district.”

Konrad also said that as part of the investigation, the school district plans to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law “any individual or individuals who attempt to threaten the livelihood of our students or staff will be.”

Konrad did not say which school was the focus of the tips or if the tips mentioned a specific school.
