October 29, 2015 — The Capparell sisters from Marian finish first and second at the District 11 Class 1A cross country meet. Tina Capparell, a sophomore, turns in a time of 20:44 at Bethlehem’s Municipal’s Executive Course to capture her second consecutive title. Her time is 29 seconds faster than Nicole Capparell, her sister, who takes the runner-up spot in the race. In the other girls competition, Northwestern’s Molly Tarvin runs a 20:19 to place fifth in the 2A field and help the Tigers finish second in the team score. Teammate Madeline Consuelos places seven. In 3A, Pleasant Valley’s Jenn Mickens crosses in 12th with a time of 20:19 to qualify for states.
