Weissport hosts Halloween parade

Clowns, pumpkins, and race cars were among those taking part in the annual Weissport Halloween Parade.

Weissport Borough Mayor Paulette Watson led the parade, driving the borough’s police car. Members of the Weissport Borough Council marched behind an ATV driven by Council President Tom Ketchledge.

Other entries in the parade included the Carbon County Republican Committee, state Rep. Doyle Heffley, Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company, Pyro Joe and his wife Mary, and tractors driven by Lucas Ketchledge and Asher Williams. Four local race cars were in the parade as well. Brent Schoenberger drove his classic Dodge truck.

The parade was held on Sunday this year, and the route was changed slightly, to avoid closing down Bridge Street and alleviate some of the traffic woes from last year.

Following the parade, everyone was treated to s’mores in the Weissport Borough Park.
