Several hundred people turned out yesterday for the formal dedication of the new Northwestern Middle School in Lynn Township.
The new school, with an enrollment of 715 students in grades 5-8, has 110,000 square feet and can accommodate up to 800 students. It was built at a cost of $10.3-million.
Dr. David Fallinger, superintendent of schools, pointed out the construction of the school was completed within a year, saying more projects of that size take 16-24 months to complete.
School board president Curtis Dietrich described the construction as “a magnificent sight to see.”
