A Smokey Bear sign Friday warns of high wildfire danger outside the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Weiser Forest District office in Rush Township.DCNR and Schuylkill County Office of Emergency Management officials are asking residents to refrain from burning debris or lighting campfires due to the recent dry conditions and unlikelihood of rain within the next week to 10 days. While there is no active countywide burn ban at this time in Schuylkill,DCNR personnel continue to monitor rainfall and forest conditions and bumped the statewide fire preparedness to Level 2 on Friday.
