State police report on turnpike incidents

State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following incidents that happened on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Elizabeth Naravas, 31, of Nesquehoning, was charged with theft after an incident at 9:37 a.m. Oct. 5 on Interstate 476 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said Naravas stole $65 and a Capital One credit card from a 24-year-old woman from Weissport.

• Frank Castro Rodriguez, 19, of Hazleton, is facing drug possession charges after police made a traffic stop at on Interstate 476 in Kidder Township.

Rodriguez was driving a 2022 Toyota police stopped after being clocked at 93 mph in a 70 mph zone, police said. When he was stopped, police found marijuana, police said.

He was also cited for speeding and driving with a suspended driver’s license, police said.

• Liana Elam, 42, of Nesquehoning, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police were dispatched to an erratic driver report at 4:48 p.m. Sept. 15 on Interstate 476 in Emmaus.

Police said she was located on the southbound shoulder of the road in a 2020 Nissan Pathfinder and failed a field sobriety test.

She was transported to the Lehigh County Booking Center for processing.
