State Police At Fern Ridge - Crashes
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following crashes:
• Steven P. Schroder, 20, of Kunkletown, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 9:44 p.m. on Oct. 15 on Jonas Road, Chestnuthill Township.
Police said he was treated at the scene by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS unit, but refused a medical transport.
He was driving a 1998 Honda Civic eastbound when it struck a deer, crossed into the westbound lane, went off the roadway, and hit an embankment and a utility pole, police said.
The car was towed from the scene.
Schroder was cited after the crash, police said.
• Barry W. Madden, 77, of Wind Gap, and Jedediah W. Seibel, 21, of Tamaqua, were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 6:36 p.m. on Oct. 16 on Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said Madden was transported by personnel from the Wind Gap Ambulance Corps to the St. Luke’s Hospital-Monroe, Stroudsburg, while Seibel was transported by the St. Luke’s Emergency and Transport Services to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg.
The crash occurred when Madden, driving a 2021 Toyota north on Route 115, attempted a left turn onto Astolat Road directly in the path of a southbound 2019 Buick Envision driven by Seibel, striking it, police said. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Police said Madden was cited after the crash.
• Michael Deluzio, 64, of Kresgeville, was cited for disorderly conduct following a crash at 6:38 p.m. on Oct. 6 at the roundabout at routes 115 and 209 in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said they were called to a hit-and-run incident and subsequently determined that Deluzio was driving a vehicle that struck a vehicle driven by a 52-year-old Kunkletown woman and then failed to remain on the scene.
A 2022 Nissan and a 2018 Toyota were involved in the crash, police said.
