Attractions

• Blue Mountain Resort is hosting a monster ball from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday.

Guests will want to come in their own special costumes to compete for prizes: most creative, best couple, fan favorite, scariest and sexiest. Live music and dinner is available. Free admission. All attendees must be 21-plus, and present a valid ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport or military ID).

• Jim Thorpe Rotary Club Ghost Walks on Fridays through Sundays through November. The one mile trip starts at the Inn at Jim Thorpe, past the Treasure Shop, Millionaires Row, Mauch Chunk Opera House, continues to the Old Jail Museum with stops at the Parsonage, St. Mark’s and finally down West Broadway to Race Street and ends at Josiah White Park where stories of the Asa Packer and Harry Packer mansion are told. Led by a costumed storyteller, the walk lasts about one hour. Trunk or treat

• Harvest festival, 1 to 3 p.m., Oct. 26, Cornerstone Community Church, 388 Polk Township Road, Kresgeville. Harvest-themed trunks with treats, games, crafts, face painting, food and much more.

• Bethany Wesleyan Church, 675 Blue Mountain Drive, Cherryville, Fabulous Fall Fest Craft Show to benefit “Through these Hands Ministry” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 26, with crafts, food items and home-baked items available.

• Pocono Mountain Harley-Davidson, Tannersville, trunk or treat cruise in, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday. Take part in a trunk or treat with motorbikes and more at the Pocono Mountain Harley-Davidson. There will be complimentary cider and treats, and vehicles are encouraged to bring candy for the trick or treaters. Children must be accompanied by parent or guardian. Free.

• Middlecreek Christian Church is hosting trunk-or-treat from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. There will be games, costumes, doughnuts, cookies, apple cider, and candy. Located at 343 Dorshimer Road, Kresgeville, Info: 570-629-4066.

•The Slatington Farmers Market, trick or treat, noon to 4 p.m. Sunday with children’s activities.

• A Safe Trick or Treat Night will be held from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Tamaqua Area High School football stadium.

The event is being organized by the school’s World Language Club and chapter of the Schuylkill Youth Conference, and will feature a fun trick-or-treat experience provided by high school club members and community organizations.

Participants should wear their spookiest, silliest, prettiest or most fantastic costumes and head to the track. Please bring a bag or bucket.

• The East Penn Board Recreation Board will sponsoring a Trunk and Treat event from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Township’s Community Center. A space outside the Community Center will be reserved for residents wanting to use the trunks of their cars to treat visiting children. People may also set up inside the community center to provide visiting children with safe assorted candy and treats. and like those vehicles set up outside the building they may use a theme or education means to set up their tables inside. RSVP to office staff. The township plans to hand out hot dogs, iced tea, treats and popcorn.

• Tuscarora RC flying club is sponsoring a trunk-or-treat and a night-flight from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at 70 Foothill street in Barnesville.

Halloween

• Lansford Halloween Festival, from 2 to 7 p.m. on Sunday,, Ashton park (Lansford Pool).

• C.H.O.S.E. of Coaldale is hosting Halloween activities from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Complex Park, 141 W. High St., Pumpkin Decorating Contest, Trunk or Treat, Music,

Food for sale, Kids in costume get free hot dog, drink, candy, gift. Prizes will be given for different age groups. Pick up a pumpkin anytime from now until the 31st, decorate it, and return it to C.H.O.S.E. Concession stand will be open at 4:30 until 9 p.m. and will be offering a large selection of food for sale. If you are interested in decorating a trunk or a table for Trunk or Treat, contact “Coaldale C.H.O.S.E.” through Facebook to reserve a spot.

• Heidelberg Union Church and Germansville Fire Company hosting trunk or treat, 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the fire company, 6011 Memorial Road, Germansville. Cars must be ready by 2:45 p.m. Hot dogs, firetrucks. 610-767-4740.

• Tamaqua Public Library will host a Halloween party from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Tamaqua Public Library, 30 S. Railroad St. It will features stories with the Sanderson Sisters, along with wand making, trick or treat stations, popcorn and a movie. The event is free to kids of all ages. • Kinsley’s Spooktacular, 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at ShopRite, 107 Kinsley Drive, Brodheadsville, crafts, treats, pumpkin painting. Free.

Parades

• Jim Thorpe Halloween parade, at 2 p.m. on Oct. 26. Lineup is at 1 p.m.

Rain date is Oct. 27, same times. Registration deadline is Oct. 22.

Parade route: Coming out of high school parking lot onto Olympian Way, left onto Center Street from Olympian Way to Ninth Street, right on Ninth Street. Ninth Street from Center Street to North Street, Cross North Street continuing on Ninth Street until Lehigh, left onto Lehigh Street until Fifth Street, left onto Fifth Street; crossing North Street continuing on Fifth Street, right onto Center Street. Follow Center street from Fifth Street to Third Street.

• Weatherly Area Community Chest’s Halloween Parade will be held Oct. 26 at Tweedle Park, High Street, Weatherly. Registration is at 1 p.m. and the parade is 2 p.m.

Prizes, candy and refreshments will be at Eurana Park, where the parade ends. Organization need to show up and register to participate.
