State police at Hazleton

State police at the Hazleton barracks reported the following incidents:

• Police were called to investigate a burglary at 5:26 p.m. Sept. 29 at a residence on East Maple Street in Tresckow, Banks Township, and ended up arresting a 38-year-old woman from Sugarloaf on a charge of criminal trespass.

• Joshua Jadush, 37, of Weatherly, is facing drug possession charges.

Police said he was found to be in possession of narcotics at 4:56 p.m. July 27 in Hazle Township after he was arrested on an outstanding warrant by the Luzerne County Sheriff’s Department.

• A 36-year-old Weatherly man is facing drug possession charges after an incident at 12:18 p.m. Oct. 19 on North Church Street in Hazle Township.

Police said they were dispatched there for a report of trespassing and made contact with two people who were walking in the area.

Police said they determined both were wanted by the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office.

The Weatherly man attempted to run but was taken into custody after a brief struggle. He was transported to the barracks for processing and later committed to the Luzerne County Prison, Wilkes-Barre.

• Michele Derr, 50, of Beaver Meadows, was charged with retail theft after police were called to the Walmart store in Hazle Township at 3:35 p.m. Oct. 19.

Police said she attempted to remove $23.82 worth of merchandise from the store without paying for the items.
