October 23, 1993 — Mike Gruber and Gary Storer both rush for over 100 yards and score two touchdowns as Jim Thorpe cruises to a 32-7 victory over Cardinal Brennan. Gruber gets the Olympians, coached by Adam Siemisnki, on the board in the opening quarter when he breaks free for a 50-yard TD run. Gruber, who ends with 139 yards rushing on 18 attempts, adds an 8-yard tally in the final frame. Storer reaches the goal line in the second period on a 52-yard run and collects 137 rushing yards on 17 carries. He concludes the scoring with a 31-yard dash to the end zone. Thorpe also receives a 25-yard TD pass from Eric Schrantz to Jay Melber.
