State police at the Fern Ridge barracks are investigating an attempted burglary that took place on the morning of Oct. 17 in Penn Forest Township.
Police said the attempt was caught on security camera and a photo of the intruder was able to be obtained.
They said the victim reported the attempt happened at 9:30 p.m., relating the security cameras on his property captured a male attempting to open his front door before breaking a window to his residence located on Henning Road in Penn Forest Township.
Police said the would-be burglar was scared off by a neighbor and ran away from the residence through the woods towards Old Stage Road.
The man is described as a white male with glasses and a bald head. Police said he appears to be of average height with a thin build. The man sustained a cut on his right hand after punching out the window, police said.
Officials said a neighborhood canvass revealed this male may frequent this area.
