Nesquehoning residents should refrain from outdoor burning until further notice.
Nesquehoning Hose Company No. 1 Fire Chief John McArdle, who also serves as the borough emergency management coordinator, announced that the borough has decided to put a burn ban in effect, effective immediately. The reason is due to the lack of rain and the dry fall foliage.
At least two brush fires have been reported in the region in recent weeks.
McArdle said the ban includes any open fires, including approved recreational fire pits.
“Everyone’s cooperation in this regard is requested,” he said.
Anyone with further questions regarding the burn ban should call the borough office.
