A McAdoo man died and a woman from that town was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday at 12:38 a.m. on the Mile Hill (Route 309) in Kline Township.
State police at the Frackville barracks said Jeffrey L. Urban, 67, was pronounced dead at the scene by a representative of the Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office.
Amy E. Urban, 64, a passenger in the vehicle, was transported by personnel from the MedEvac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township.
Police said the crash occurred when a 2021 Nissan Sentra driven by Jeffrey Urban northbound traveled onto the right shoulder of the road and struck the rear of a 2001 Freightliner tractor trailer that was parked at the time.
Police said the Sentra had disabling damages and was towed from the scene. The rear of the rig sustained functional damages, police said.
Police were assisted at the scene by personnel from the McAdoo EMS unit, Hazle Township Fire and Rescue Squad, McAdoo Fire Company, Tresckow Fire Company and Lehigh Valley Health Network Ambulance.
