Twenty white crosses now mark the graves of the Franklin Township Cemetery.

The crosses and a memorial stone were dedicated at a service held at St. Paul’s Union Church, Big Creek, officiated by the Rev. Michael Bodnyk, pastor of Dinkey Memorial Church, Ashfield, and the Rev. Paul Eberts, pastor of St. Paul’s.

Speakers at the program, were Mary Kramer, a former teacher in the area whose late father, Andrew Kramer, is buried on the hillside, and Willie Kemmerer, who explained the two-year project and commended volunteers for clearing and maintaining the area.

After the cemetery program, congregation members moved indoors for a dedication ceremony for the church’s new kitchenette.
