Why he entered medicine: Dr. Cason was drawn to caring for cancer patients after losing his mother to breast cancer in 1998. She was just 34 years old. “While my family was dealt a devastating tragedy, it has been beautiful to see the triumphs medicine has accomplished in the years since, “ says Dr. Cason. “More people are living longer and better than ever, and we aim to do better as well.”
