Franklin Township supervisors on a 2-0 vote took the following action on Tuesday:
• Agreed to advertise for Requests for Proposals for a zoning and building official code administrator.
• Announced that the township will receive $79,711 in Community Development Block Grant funding for the Red Hill Road Phase 3 drainage project, which will utilize combined funding from 2023, 2024, and 2025.
• Agreed to hire one new road and garbage crew employee, with a start date of Oct. 15.
• Announced that an electronic recycling event will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday for Franklin Township residents only.
• Agreed to hold trick or treat from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31.
• Approved a request from Palmerton borough to have the Franklin Township fire police assist with traffic control on Sunday for the Palmerton Halloween Parade.
• Approved a request from Palmerton Borough to have the Franklin Township fire police assist with traffic control at 9 a.m. on Nov. 28 for the Turkey Trot 5K Race.
• Announced that garbage collection pickup has been changed from Nov. 11 to Nov. 12.
